SERVICES

Myotherapy

Myotherapy is an effective treatment using manual therapy techniques to repair and restore soft tissue. It helps to treat the aches, pains and injuries we often feel in our muscles, tendons and ligaments.

A thorough clinical assessment, including a patient history, allows the Myotherapist to determine an appropriate treatment plan focused on individual needs.

A course of treatment is designed to treat pain, restore function, improve mobility and posture, and assist in maintaining healthy muscles for athletes.

Remedial Massage

Remedial Massage is a thorough, precise massage designed to work in any areas of tension or knots. It can be a general massage where the therapist finds and releases tension as they go, or it can be a very targeted focused session such as a dedicated leg session or the upper body, shoulders and neck session.

A remedial massage uses specific techniques to restore function to the muscle and break down knots. To get the best results, multiple sessions are often required.

Sports Massage

Whether you are an elite/professional athlete or a weekend warrior, sports massage can help you maintain a healthier body, prevent injuries, restore mobility to injured muscle tissue, boost performance and help you stay active.

A sports massage is a combination of techniques specific to your needs and condition. Your body will benefit physically, physiologically and psychologically.

TESTIMONIALS

"I first attended Myoworks after I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my neck.  This was causing me pain, restricted movement and numbness in my left shoulder and arm and fingers.  I was impressed with Judy as she took time to work out exactly how my condition effected me.  Over a number of weeks I received regular treatments using various techniques.  Following my treatment I have full range of movement and sensation and my pain has been significantly reduced. I highly recommend Judy and Myoworks."

Raymond M

"I have received regular massages from Judy now for four years.  I used to regularly have neck pain that was debilitating, requiring intensive physiotherapy to manage.
Judy is a delightful person who has gently worked with me to bring me freedom of movement. I no longer suffer from pain."

Roslyn S

"Judy has been treating me now for about 3 years. As a triathlete in a multidisciplined sport I need to keep my entire body maintained and in good health. Judy's knowledge of the body and the treatment of sporting injuries has enabled me to recover faster and allow me to train with the intensity required for competition. I would highly recommend Judy as a sports therapist."

Why Myotherapy?

When to see a Myotherapist?

Myotherapy treats many of the aches and pains we often feel when we hurt ourselves. Injuries to soft tissue can happen in many ways, such as through overuse, poor posture, repetitive movements, knocks or playing sports. Early treatment is always recommended because, if left untreated, these injuries can cause long-term pain and lead to further problems in the body.

A Myotherapy Consultation

Your Myotherapist will ask about your health and wellbeing history, and assess your posture, range of movement and the parts of your body affected both directly and indirectly by your condition. Throughout this assessment, you and your Myotherapist will talk about how each movement feels, how difficult it is and any referred pain. This helps the Myotherapist identify the cause of the pain and create a treatment plan that treats both the cause of the pain and the symptoms. As each condition is different for each person, your Myotherapist will choose a treatment using specific technique(s) they believe is best suited to your needs. A Myotherapist has many techniques they may use during a sessions, including:

  • Trigger Point Therapy

  • Myofascial Release

  • Soft Tissue Release

  • Cupping

  • Dry Needling

  • Mobilisation

  • Muscle Energy Techniques

  • Stretching
